Assuming this is an in-jest comment, I think the suggestion of restoring 1tph XC to Bournemouth is actually quite a sensible one (I said 'at least Southampton', but thinking about it, you don't save any units by terminating alternate ones there so they may as well all go through to Bournemouth).

If the Newcastle to Southampton train is returning then ideally it should go all the way to Bournemouth, especially if the existing 9 car services get shortened. When a 5 car shows up it gets rammed.
