Do you sit in facing seats knowing that they've had feet on them?

My Swiss friend has told me that feet on seats is rare in Switzerland, because if someone did do it the rest of the passengers would tell him off.

Are Merseyrail still prosecuting for feet on seats?

I only ever heard of one prosecution, the young lass who had flip flops on. Whenever I have witnessed a guard spotting an offender he usually just indicates for the feet to be taken off the seat and moves on. Sometimes they turn a blind eye to it.
