Hi guys,

I'm going to sheffield tommorrow from leeds, well meadowhall really, but I stupidly didn't realise meadowhall actually had a station which the leeds train actually stops at lol! so I bought leeds to sheffield ticket and a rather pointless plusbus... hmm... :s I was just gonna get off at meadowhall anyway, but then I thought what if it has ticket barriers? I know its small station but just in case...

Just be easiar if I can get off there, rather than go all the way to sheffield and have to get the supertram to meadowhall when I can get direct train there you know? I don't need to be there long, its literally to pickup something and back to leeds...

Don't think it does, but your ticket is stillvalid anyway so there wouldn't be a problem. IIRC when I went past once they had staff checking tickets, but they would let you through.

That's fine, it's probably quickest to get the semi fast via Barnsley, as this calls at Meadowhall. The only ones that don't are the XC services, which are wedged at busy times as everyone piles on to them to do local journeys. (But for the busy trains that are 2 units, go to the back as everyone wedges onto the front unit!)

^^yeah that's what I was originally going to do just get xc to sheffield then supertram to meadowhall hence the plusbus. obviously I should have probs checked routing properly, but I really didn't think meadowhall would have a station, as it's just a shopping centre. plus it was last minute thing hence my lack of err organisation.

thanks guys though, ever useful and helpful, it's much appreciated....:)

They just have barrier staff on duty but the whole concept is a bit half-hearted really!

The last few times i have alighted here there has been a 'human' barrier checking tickets on the footbridge outside the ticket office. The guards on the S.Yorks local trains are very efficient & even though very busy didnt let many punters escape.
