Does anyone know if you're a shunter/depot driver and you actually want to move over to a driving position, do you need to sit the driving assessments again?
As far as I’m aware you don’t need to re-take your psychometric tests. However, you will still start from training school day 1.Does anyone know if you're a shunter/depot driver and you actually want to move over to a driving position, do you need to sit the driving assessments again?
That’s the case for some depots who cross over mainlines for example. GWR has the same (Depot Drivers do a full rules course I believe, whereas Maneuverers don’t).That isn’t the case with EMR depot drivers get a full European driving licence and they do full rules.
They used to do a short course like a refresher before mentoring for mainline. But we’ve been told this isn’t the case no more. Maybe something to do with the apprenticeship I don’t know![]()
That makes sense, I’ve just done final rules exams got traction, EMR specific rules and mentoring for notts. Due to pass out March timeThat’s the case for some depots who cross over mainlines for example. GWR has the same (Depot Drivers do a full rules course I believe, whereas Maneuverers don’t).
As far as the assessments go, if you’re a driver grade you shouldn’t need to retake psychometrics.
