Morning all! Is anyone able to confirm if any 37s haven't been sold yet and, as such, are still with DRS? I haven't heard of 716 being purchased yet despite being on one of the sale lists
37419, 422 and 716 have been bought by HNRCMorning all! Is anyone able to confirm if any 37s haven't been sold yet and, as such, are still with DRS? I haven't heard of 716 being purchased yet despite being on one of the sale lists
Interesting. I wonder what HNRC will do with a heavyweight. Super-shunter I’d imagine.
Other than the HGR refurb that you mention, I don’t think Brush touched any of the /7 subclass. The cab desks on 706, 712, 716 (and probably 714 also) are generally in ”as built” condition, and all had/have Q-TRON OTMR fitted by EWS.37716 is only really a refurb 37 ie traction alternator instead of generator, but with 15 tonnes of steel welded inside. Not sure whether it has had the Brush electrical and desk mods but it maybe a bit more standard than the ex EPS 37/6s and those tinkered with by Brush.
Ahh cool thanks for confirming!37419, 422 and 716 have been bought by HNRC
And 37407 by Europhoenix and 37424/425 by Meteor Power (this company, presumably: https://www.meteorpower.com/)37419, 422 and 716 have been bought by HNRC
Thanks. I’m surprised that the four ”RVEL rebuild” locos have been dispersed to four different companies - it certainly will not make troubleshooting straightforward. And 37407 by Europhoenix and 37424/425 by Meteor Power (this company, presumably: https://www.meteorpower.com/)
I thought there were only 2 RVEL rebuild locos (37407 and 37424), what were the other 2 please? Thanks. I’m surprised that the four ”RVEL rebuild” locos have been dispersed to four different companies - it certainly will not make troubleshooting straightforward.
423, 716 also both had some re-engineering done at the same time.I thought there were only 2 RVEL rebuild locos (37407 and 37424), what were the other 2 please?
Your welcomeAhh cool thanks for confirming!

...What is required is a way of delivering a drop in modern hybrid electric powertrain, auxiliary power systems, advanced control systems. etc. to fit any of the more common and widely used freight locomotives.
This is what Meteor Power has done. Testing is underway and will be out on trial with several interested parties in the new year.
Interesting in that it is well over three years since they posted anything on there. They have had an 08 and a 37 for some time now with precious little sign of progress.
This is interesting... I wonder what they will do with 37424 and 425
if it comes to fruition, 424 will become one of the most heavily invested ex-BR locomotives…This is interesting... I wonder what they will do with 37424 and 425
Yeah that would make sense... would we ever see them running on the main line again though???if it comes to fruition, 424 will become one of the most heavily invested ex-BR locomotives…
Thanks, wasn't aware of that, the pics I saw of 407 and 424 showed them virtually completely reskinned such was the level of work going on.423, 716 also both has some re-engineering done at the same time.
