Durham [DHM] to Aberdeen [ABD]

Hi all,

I'm trying to work out the best deal for 2 people, both with 16-25 railcards, to get to ABD on Friday 2/3/12, returning on Monday 5/3/12.

The best I've got so far is to split at Berwick, which gets me £44.20 each way. Does anyone have any other suggestions? A through train is preferred as we have instruments with us. Thanks in advance

In addition, please avoid using three letter codes in thread titles or where you haven't mentioned the station before.

Actually, having looked I can't even see how you've managed £44 with your split? Does this involves Advances? (Or am I missing something obvious?)

That was with advances, yes. I should have booked it ages ago, but I was waiting for the people at the other end to confirm.

To change it, you can do one of two things. You can either click on Edit on the first post and change the thread title there, or you can double-click in the white space immediately next to the thread title on the Fares, Tickets and Routeing list

Realistically you are unlikely to get much lower than that unless someone finds a ridiculous combination of Advances.

Durham 0823 to Berwick-Upon-Tweed 0930 £11.60 STD advance for 2 Adults
Berwick 0931 to Edinburgh 1020 £11.20 Advance STD for 2 adults
Edinburgh 1027 to Abderdeen 1305 £16.00 STD advance for 2 adults

Outward cost £38.80 for 2 adults with 16-25 railcard

5th March Return

1816 Aberdeen to Durham 2258 direct with East Coast

tickets needed :

1816 Aberdeen to Berwick-Upon-Tweed 2146 £14.10 STD Advance 2 adults
2147 Berwick to Durham 2258 £7.20 STD Advance 2 adults.

total cost return : £21.30

total cost overall : £60.40 for 2 adults with Railcards.

Book at East Coast ASAP to get these prices and East Coast Discount
