1S25 has arrived into Northallerton approximately 3.5 hours behind, coincidentally it’s 801228, so it’s definitely taken a Century to get there!

Several windows on the TPE (carriage windows) and one or two passenger windows on the LNER.

Both have faults and damage to units, fitter is on site at TpE unit.

Potentially a deer, no evidence of an animal being found, but blood and fur on unit, and confirmed as animal blood.
Is anything likely to be found after being hit by two trains at high speed?

Yes, but it’s dark, and the area is surrounded by fields and possibly embankments.

Priority is the passengers off the trains.

1S51 has examined the line leading up to 1P33 and reports all clear.

No doubt daylight in the morning may shed some light, or CCTV from the trains when they get time to download and watch.

2 class 185s just pulled into Northallerton Station platform
From Middlesbrough, not from the line that’s affected! The evacuation is still
On going.

Some fun movements happen when things go wrong
A Freight train planned for 60mph (6N74 2045 Scunthorpe B.S.C.(Ent.C.) to Tees N.Y.) is on the fast lines overtaking 4 125mph passenger trains.

Train evacuated and line blockage about to be given up to allow 1S51 to move.

Then the priority is the backlog of trains

Are the engineers still at 1P33? Wonder if/when the unit will be able to move under it's own power or if it will need to be pulled clear of the mainline by a thunderbird

Latest from my mate on it, they are still track evacuating
Evacuation is complete as I posted above.

Yes, engineers still there, unsure of what the intentions are with regards the unit.

Looks like there are 13 trains waiting on the South side, 8 on the North side.

1N96 (19:27 Kings Cross to Sunderland) seems to now be terminating at Stadium of Light instead.

Sunderland Station will be closed, so Stadium of Light allows customers to alight.

Can't remember whether the unit numbers were included earlier in the thread, but for completeness - the units involved in the collision with the obstruction were:

1E23 1630 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross LNER 801209
1P33 1554 Liverpool Lime Street to Newcastle TransPennine Express 802216

1Z99 seems to be in Holgate..presumably letting the backlog start to clear before shifting the TPE unit. Although the TPE unit may be able to move under its own power.

edit the TPE did move under its own power

Earlier in the day, an incident with the OHL at Doncaster, arcing from the OHL to a Container on a freight train, the incident required an OHL isolation

Now that daylight has reached even the darkest corners of North Yorkshire, does anyone know - was it Daisy or Bambi hit?
