I’ve been informed that 1D26 has bought the overhead wires down between Grantham and Peterborough.

At this time, all lines are blocked.

Damage to the overhead electric wires between Peterborough and Grantham means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Major disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day.

Sat on 1D27 (18:18 ex Kings Cross) and we've just started moving back to Peterborough. 1S99 (18:27 Lumo) turned round before us.

Wires down across all 4 lines.
1L15 which was asked to examine, has ran over wires and has them also wrapped around it.

A small number of trains have been diverted via the Joint Line.

Kings Cross are advising that there are no more departures from Kings Cross this evening, due to the disruption.

They’re advising passengers to use services from St. Pancras, however passengers may not be board due to overcrowding.

⚠️ Due to damage to the Overhead Line Equipment there will be no more services from Kings Cross this evening

Will this affect travel tomorrow on the northern section as I plan to head from Edinburgh to Newcastle in the early afternoon

Hull Trains 1A96 has, unusually, gone in to platform 6 at Peterborough.
1L15 has also been untangled and is now outside Peterborough awaiting space.

Not the best photos, but you can see the damage.

5B91 800 208 is now forming 1Z99 at Lincoln Terrace Sidings, presumably for the rescue of 1D26 at Little Bytham.

Always a risk travelling today given the weather and the industrial action as well.

Any sort of extreme weather would put me off using the trains these days.

Nearly 4 hours and counting before evacuation is taking place then?

Indeed, the MML is low on capacity as it is, never mind when there is also disruption.

I’m now hearing there is a tree on the diversionary route via Spalding.

1N32 is currently standing at Spalding.

Local services reported an obstruction in the Ruskington area, must be another separate incident then.
I wouldn’t be surprised either, Windy.com shows wind gusts of around 40-60 knots in the area at the moment!

This is fast becoming a repeat of Thursday's incident outside of Paddington.
Four trains stuck between Werrington and Spalding and 1D26 has been stuck south of Stoke Tunnel for almost five hours. The rescue set has been at Grantham for well over half an hour.

Are the passengers of 1D26 still on the train?
Wires around train currently being earthed, once done D26 is apparently going to go forward of its own accord

Tree on the line which an EMR hit, not really sure the railway could plan for that when diverting services!

Also N32 was platformed at Splading waiting for line to clear, doors were released so people could get bit fresh air etc, then people started causing disturbance refusing to get back on, that caused further delay!

The rescue set if needed can not get alongside while work is under way to earth/move wires!

I'd be interested to know what conditions are like on the train; it is delayed by over 5 hours.

1N32, which is full and standing, stopped in the platform at Spalding and passengers were allowed off. It took so long to get them back on that 1D32 overtook it and proceeded first towards Lincoln!
