It feels like it has been a while since there was major disruption involving the wires on the East Coast, but the wires are back at it again now. It appears 1H10 and 1P82 are stuck in the Woodwalton Junction area (just north of Huntingdon) because of damage to the overhead wires. 0Z99 Thunderbird is en route from Newark Northgate to assist.

Damage to the overhead wires between Huntingdon and Peterborough means trains running between these station may be delayed by up to 75 minutes cancelled. In addition Great Northern and Thameslink services may be terminated at and started back from St Neots.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

It's apparently due to an animal being hit and destroying the pantograph. Apparently been told it then broke the window on a. Thames link.
