According to Real Train Times, the East London Line timetable has been recast, assuming due to reliability problems.

The crux is all Highbury and Islington services will run via Forest Hill.

The section between New Cross Gate and Sydenham will have a train every 7/7.5 minutes instead of the current 5/10 min spacing, which brings it into line with NLL service patterns.

Clapham Junction services will terminate at Dalston Junction, so there's no longer the simple change at H&I to complete the LO orbital circle.

These changes also affect Southern's Outer SLL service with trains starting 5 minutes earlier to allow for the recasting of the Crystal Palace LOROL services.

IIRC that was the originally described service pattern - I'm sure when the eventual Clapham Jn to Highbury &I turned up it hadn't actually been expected.

In fact by searching via Google, I found you already thought that a few years ago: http://www.railforums.co.uk/showpost.php?p=1132840&postcount=2

It'll be interesting to see if TfL finally get rid of the anomaly where a Clapham Junction passenger can travel via the SLL to Canonbury and H&I for a Z2 fare despite travelling via Zone 1 at Shoreditch High Street?

It makes the service to London Bridge rather uneven though.

From Sydenham, current departures to LBG are 12/24/42/54, after Dec it will be 12/19/42/49. Trains from LBG are regular though (14/29/44/59).

It appears that the Outer SLL trains at Crystal Palace will no longer be held towards London Bridge. That gap comes in handy if a service from Victoria runs late.

It's a GTR recast, the ELL changes are a knock on. However the GTR timetable hasn't been made to work yet (stunning performance from the bid team there) so its a sensible move to isolate the LO Sydenhams for when Southern inevitably continue to cause delays along the corridor to LO trains...

The change is to enable all ELL routes to operate in isolation so that knock on effects from one route have minimal affect another.
