Hi,

Can anyone shed any light on exactly where the proposed EMR depot at Kettering will be? And any other information you can provide would be most welcome. EMR have advertised for internal drivers to transfer there but have provided no information at all!
TIA.

New EMU stabling sidings being constructed south of station on ‘up’ side currently at end of car park (NN15 7HT) so close to station .
With maintenance further stabling at Cauldwell , Bedford.

If internal, you should now be in receipt of some information from the company. Traincrew depot will be on Kettering station, and there will be 27-30 drivers based there, with work being a mixture of class 360 on Corby services and 222s on the mainline. T&Cs will be based on ex-Midland Mainline Sunday inclusive contract.

How is the internal advert likely to effect the recent external drivers recruitment plan?

11 have been given start dates for October from the talent pool leaving around 19 places if EMR are to have the estimated 30 drivers in place. Adverts have gone out internally for qualified drivers to transfer to the new depot. The remaining places will be filled by the talent pool.

Unless anyone knows any different.

Can someone clear up what Sunday inclusive means? I’m assuming it means Sunday’s are included in your shift pattern.

Sundays in the working week was negotiated under East Midlands Trains in a multi-year paydeal a few years ago and was finally implemented at the beginning of this year. Rather unusually, Drivers could remain opted out, or opt in, to Sundays in the working week, with a different pay rise etc. depending on what they chose.
Any drivers new to the company go on the Sundays in the working week contract - they get opted in.
It looks as though anyone internal who wants to transfer to Kettering will have to opt in to Sundays in the working week if they haven't already done so - that's what it looks like, but clarity should be sought from HR and union reps if you are in this position.

But yes, an average 4 day week with Sundays included in the working week.
