indeed, that is pathetic, three hours on a bus, or under two hours on a train, what a ridiculous state of affairs from EMR...Oh dear could they not hire in a train from somewhere ?

yes and it appears they are keeping this very hush hush, obviously because it is such a dreadful way to operate a railway. EMR bus service anyone..While paying train fares for the privilege, presumably!
It's actually quite insulting.

DfT would have to sign off hiring in extra trains and presumably coaches are a cheaper option so EMR were forced into that. One thing GBR is meant to deliver is less DfT involvement in the day to day running of the railway.indeed, that is pathetic, three hours on a bus, or under two hours on a train, what a ridiculous state of affairs from EMR...
Using buses is nothing new to supplement the train service, particularly on summer Saturdays. They've been doing that for a number of years now, or have standby buses at Grantham. It just seems that this year may be more noticeable.Looking at RTT, it appears that EMR's solution for an enhanced service to and from Skegness this year is to run buses between Nottingham and Skegness alongside the train service, with the only additional stop for the buses being at Grantham. Buses are listed on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays from 19th July onwards.
definately a line to avoid this summer, and then there will be moaning about passenger numbers going down, in the 60's this was closure by stealth..Not prepared to spend the cash presumably. Just squeeze them on the 170`s
as a local it`s Friday (Butlin`s change over day) and Saturday to avoid , the rest of the week is usually ok in the summerdefinately a line to avoid this summer, and then there will be moaning about passenger numbers going down, in the 60's this was closure by stealth..
