I think it would behove European Sleeper to ensure they actually run their existing services efficiently, rather than branching out prematurelt. The existing services are hampered by, er, a lack of rolling stock, so it's an enduring issue.

Thanks.

Take it the 'moles' are l'Armée Orange de RFF?.... ;)
"Mole" is a reference to track workers, yes. Specifically, DB used to have an anthromorphic mole called Max Maulwurf as a mascot, specifically featuring on engineer work posters. They retired him in 2022 though.

And consequently engineering work is often referred to as "mole works".

Publicity released this morning via email and social media highlights that, to quote, "the Barcelona route is on its way". "We’re excited to share that the much-anticipated Barcelona night train is becoming more and more concrete. Preparations are in full swing, and there’s likely to be more GOOD news very soon." It is, of course, a plug for donations, but it sounds positive nonetheless.

Also includes the following, which is the first official hint at the expected stops en route (it may or may not be an exclusive list), and seems to confirm that Amsterdam is dropped (as hinted at previously):

Brussels – Avignon – Montpellier – Narbonne – Girona – Barcelona

As someone Dutch, I am actually glad they cut out Amsterdam. I’d rather see them focus on getting a hopefully more attainable schedule as opposed to perhaps flying a little too close to the sun yet again as they did with their whole Venice ordeal. Of course, I’d love to see them eventually expand to the Netherlands for their Barcelona service, once it is up and running.
