Eurostar bans spirits onboard

I got a Case of Thatchers Gold and a Case of Stowford on a Eurostar to Lille in 2013 and they tried to confiscate them at the border... needless to say i got all 48 cans onboard and they where enjoyed when i later reached the south of france.

Years ago I took a crate of Czech beer of some kind home on the E*, no resistance whatsoever. It wasn't a full crate, though, as I met some quite interesting American soldiers who were on leave on the night train from Prague to Frankfurt on the way and some of it got, er, consumed as they shared their stories.
