Just rebooked onto Eurostar Brussels-Cologne having missed our ICE connection.

Do the Eurostar Vending machines offer beer and wine?

Just curious: did they rebook you free of charge and did you have to insist before they would?

Vending machines? So far as I'm aware "Eurostar Red" (i.e. former Thalys routes which I guess you're talking about) have a staffed buffet counter, and yes, it does sell beer and wine.

Eurostar just stamped our DB seat reservations without question, and didn't ask about tickets (Interrail)

We are instructed to speak to the Train Manager before boarding.

There seem to be 5 seats in 2nd class and 2 in 1st (Premier) left so that may be interesting.

There's a supermarket or two at Midi, but likely to be heaving.

Train Manager was fine, but we are in Clutter Class facing seats, which compare quite favourably with UK First Class. Now tucking into my Carrefour Congolese beers!

I had read somewhere that the cafe-bar was being replaced by vending machines, but I'm now enjoying a Duvel from the bar.
