After lots of false starts, another attempt at getting 67022 back in passenger service is planned for tomorrow.
It's now on HD02 and if all goes to plan it will work 1V33/1W19/1V50 diagram tomorrow.

67013 is still stuck at Hereford with wheel flats after a brake issue whilst running light engine to Canton last week.

Does that mean it's likely to work W11/V37 on Tuesday?

No, could change but its planned to do 1W19/1V50 again on Tuesday then does 1W11/1V37/1W96 on Wednesday.

I imagine it could change futher as 1V50 tomorrow (Monday) is now amended to terminate at Shrewsbury due to traincrew shortages, no driver I would guess as the guard works through there but it changes driver, so that will throw the diagram in tatters

Will the 1230 from Piccadilly be worked by a mk4 set then? Real time trains doesn’t seem to show it. It just says pathed as diesel loco with trailing load…

Yes, HD07 + 67025

HD07 has never seemed to show up as allocated since it came back into service. Some internal gremlin in the system!

Yes the 1230 from Piccadilly today had a chef on board. The food was lovely and well worth the £25 for 3 courses.
Comfy seats with the branded headrests. The 1st class stickers are a bit big on the windows perhaps.
Spotted the black painted TfW branded class 67 loco going the other way too.

Just about anything is too big in my opinion. There's plenty of space inside and out in a train carriage to put stickers on. Why put them on the bits that were designed to be seen through?

Should finally be back to the full 4 diagrams from this week after a long time with only 3 or even 2 planned out.

Still a shortage of locos however with 67013 still at Hereford with severe wheel flats and a couple at Crewe ETD, on exams this means 67005 is currently on hire and used to power up HD03 on Exam/Mods, this set is now expected out around 26th November, 4 weeks later than originally hoped for. The rest should then follow as 5 cars by the year end putting all 7 sets available for the first time which should enable the 5th diagram to start which is the most there'll be with 7 sets.

Been a couple of loco swaps over the weekend so current status of sets and locos is:
HD01+67014
HD02+67025
HD03+67005
HD04+67015
HD05+67010
HD06+67029
HD07+67022

Many thanks for the update. It’s all been taking a time to get these trains up and running.

Will 67005 haul anything in passenger service?
Nope, its not modified to work Push pull with Mk4s so it's purely there to provide power for HD03 on the depot.

It does make a nice change to see a full roster, here's hoping it all goes to plan!
It didn't even make it through Monday morning! 67014 having issues at Flint and Ludlow before expiring completely at Hereford on 1V91

Definitely seeing more 150s on booked 67 Manchester turns than booked 197 Manchester ones at the moment.

Oh dear oh dear, that's not good! There's a want to hear the sound of losing on The Price Is Right for this moment!
Back to 3 diagrams for Tuesday and Wednesday before 4 from Thursday. A rather short lived full set out!

Must of been bad because it looks like it required rescue!

It shut down at Flint, again outside Ludlow but coasted in to the station then the same happened outside Hereford.
Where it was other trains were able to get round so it was sensible to leave it and arrange rescue rather than it likely to shut down again and block the line somewhere. 67029 which was used as the rescue engine has now replaced 67014 on HD01.

Seems TfW has issued tender to maintain the mk4 sets
Also has mention of spare set HD99

Description

Transport for Wales Rail Limited (TfWRL) are considering the appointment of an external maintenance agent to deliver all aspects of OH1 examinations on Mark IV Formations including Driving Van Trailers. This document provides overview of the minimum requirements set by TfWRL regarding the provision of OH1 overhaul alongside the fulfilment of a Spares Access Agreement by a nominated third-party delivery partner. HD01 HD03 – HD07 Formations, marshalled consists of five individual coaches and a Driving Van Trailer (42 Vehicles), are diagrammed and currently in-service. The Spare Formation, HD99 shall be brought into service soon and is not with certainty the subject of the tender scope, it may be considered optional. In its entirety the Mark IV loco-hauled coaching stock carriages are operated upon behalf of Welsh Ministers to whom Title is assigned. The contract will be for a duration of 24 months.

Does anyone know what OH1 and SMA float means ?

Two years is not a long contract period.
One would hope the Mk4s will be in service a good deal longer than that.
OH1 might be a spec for a type of overhaul activity.
