The redevelopment of Exeter Bus Station is finally going ahead, with completion scheduled for late 2020. Seven bays will remain available for buses throughout the redevelopment, and the Stagecoach Travel Shop will also remain open.

From Sunday 17th June all National Express and Megabus services will be temporarily relocated to an on-street stop in nearby Sidwell Street - stop no. 31, east of the junction with Cheeke Street.

The following Stagecoach services will also be relocated to temporary stands in nearby streets:

1/1A/1C to Cullompton and Tiverton - Sidwell Street stop 23

5/5A/5B/5C to Crediton and Okehampton/Bideford/Chulmleigh - Paris Street stop 16

55/155 to Tiverton and Barnstaple - Paris Street stop 16

56/56A to Exeter St David's Station - Paris Street stop 17

56/56A to Exeter Airport and Exmouth - Cheeke Street stop 39

57/58 to Exmouth and Brixington - Sidwell Street stop 19

Stagecoach routes 2, B/2B (towards Exminster), 4/4A/4B, 6/6A, 9/9A, X38, 39, 46, X64 and all routes operated by other companies will continue to use the Bus Station.

The current Bus Station dates from 1964, and is no longer regarded as being "fit for purpose". The redevelopment also incorporates a new sports centre.
