This is a recording from 2001 to show how to run a train through a station operated by a mechanical signal box. The video is explained in English with a nice German accent (for entertainment). The description is for people understanding the signaller's language.

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for that link - a different way of doing things to our UK manual signal boxes.

In return can I direct you to the 'FARSAP' project organised by the UK's Signalling Record Society and others. This is an effort to record as many of the existing UK Manual signal boxes as possible before they are closed, and also some of the boxes on our 'Heritage Railways' - see https://www.s-r-s.org.uk/archivevideo.php for information and links to the videos produced so far.

And then at http://www.sigbox.co.uk/sigbox/home.eb there's information about my local preserved signal box and how it works.

Great little video there. Particularly amused by the way the guard pulls tongues at the camera - Germans do have a sense of humour :)
Well, sometimes we have. I would say only in the case we are have lost our white socks and sandals ;)
