Is anyone aware of any development plans for this eyesore which is a blot on the Falkirk landscape after closing nearly four years ago.

Has any other Bus Station remained extant in the UK for so long with nothing being done to it ?

Closed exactly four years ago. (19th August 2018).

The local newspaper (The "Falkirk Herald") runs stories from time to time, speculating on the possible fate of the former Falkirk bus station site, but haven't seen any definite plans yet, in the four years since closure.

Plenty of them (depending on the extent of nothingness)

Valley Bridge bus station in Scarborough closed in c.1988/9 and was largely unchanged until 2014 (and aside from the offices being smartened up and the area resurfaced, largely recognisable.

Vicar Lane bus station in Leeds is also very much as it was after closure in 1990.

Many schemes have been proposed but fallen through

I would also suggest Clacton as being another one that is still largely recognisable too - think that went in 1986!

Also, now gone now and replaced by a Waitrose but Haywards Heath closed c.1988 (Jeremy Chapter photo from Flickr 1980) and was still intact until 2015. That's remarkable given the strength of the property market in that area!

The thing about Falkirk bus station is that staff still need to do a weekly walk around. It’s a sorry state inside too and really wasn’t fit for purpose before it closed. Closure certainly has had an effect on businesses in the area, I’d say .
