When I get bored, I try and plan things, albeit badly.

This is something I've wanted to see in action for a while, and basically I'm wondering how feasible it is!

What I have created is an 11 platform Wolverhampton station.

Platforms 1 to 6 remain the same (although renumbered 6 becomes platform 7).

Platform 1: Through North (11 car)
Platform 2: Through/Terminating Mixed (11 car)
Platform 3: Through/Terminating Mixed (11 car)
Platform 4: Through South (11 car)
Platform 5: Terminating South (4 car)
Platform 6: Terminating South (4 car)
Platform 7: Terminating North (4 car)

Four light rail (metro) platforms:

Platform 8/9: Terminus of Wolverhampton loop
Platform 10/11: Terminus of North and East metro lines

Metro Lines

Wolverhampton loop planned by centro links to Birmingham.

Wolverhampton to Wednesfield to Willenhall to Walsall planned by centro. (Follows the Wolverhampton and Walsall Railway (not to be confused with the Wolverhampton to Walsall Line)).

Wolverhampton North line: leaves North, follows the Springfield Brewery site to join the A449 at Fox's Lane with a park and ride for the city centre. Heads along the A449 (planned to have all islands removed anyway) to either Wolverhampton Business Park (M54 J2) or i54 (Wobaston Road).

Key Features

Large, open concourse area taking up much of the old car park.

Covered access to overbridges and subway.

Empty land around the station used for new much-needed parking areas.

Wolverhampton Low Level essentially reopened, although the new line is to the other side of the station building (which could be given a new lease of life...)

Access road to the station is now via A454 Horseley Fields, via Ring Road, and NOT via the city centre as currently.

I mean it's probably a load of rubbish but hey, the current plan for the station involves building a multistorey car park on top of the station... oh god, haven't we learnt!?

Just having some fun, don't mind me

Unfortunately it wouldn't see much use, not as a seperate station. If Wolverhampton was to have a second station it would need to be on the West side of the city, although they could also have a couple to the North (at Pendeford, Bushbury, Wolverhampton Business Park) and maybe reopen Monmore Green for the south..

The Low Level station (building) is set to be a banqueting centre now.

Look what they're doing to the poor thing :'(

It would be nice to have the low level open to trains, yeah, but I don't think anyone would walk the extra distance unless the connections were worthwhile. It's not the best area for a station as there's not much nearby (Springfield as an area is a dump right now).
