Hi all, not been on here for a while. Like a few others, I am still in the 'holding area' for FCC Trainee Train driver, passing all the necessary back in February 2013, like a few others.
Has anyone got any updates on the possibility of courses for 2014?
Who is the longest on here, and still waiting for selection ie When did you pass all the relevant bits n pieces, and placed on the 'we will let you know list'?

Hi there, so that was you applying in April 2013, and passing all assessments and interview etc.....did they give you an indication as to when you would have expected being picked up? Or was November a bit of a shock?
I've applied for Cambridge so I'm hoping it will be soon

Good Luck

Fcc newbie I passed mine same time as you. I wouldnt get your hopes up though as shoot to kill application was a completely separate intake as its the depot job.
I kinda wish id applied for the depot one as well now.
Congratulations on getting the job I bet you cant wait to get started.

Cheers

I thought the process was the same for mainline and depot? wouldn't we all be in the same pool?

Separate applications for separate jobs.

TL intakes tend to be August & February. I think GN intakes are May & November.

There are loads of trainees in the system at the moment though so I've no idea if they'll keep on taking people at the present rate. There are 24 on TL side alone and that's before you include the qualified drivers who have moved to FCC from elsewhere.

Yes got an email last week saying there were positions coming up in few months and would I still be interested in it.
So now not sure if im likely to hear something soon or if its just them trimming lists of people no longer interested!

Was that an email out of the blue, or a response to yours?
Have you asked for a particular depot?

Completely out of the blue I had emailed them in December asking for any news and just heard back saying they would possibly have some places in 2014.
I asked for Hitchin and Cambridge.

Am now pretty sure this was just them updating lists unfortunately for me!

Have since found out the intakes for Cambridge are in July and September this year and that they will contact people 3 months before hand.

So did you receive a telephone call, or was it just an email. Did you find out the info from FCC or an insider?

I emailed one of the ppl at FCC careers as my application had dissapeared off the website.
They basically said its because they are changing over systems but that I was still in the holding pool and they had courses starting in July and September. Although no guarantee of placement.
