The TPO group and the group restoring the wagon lits sleeping car on the nene valley railway are raising money to build a museum and workshop in the yard at ferry meadows station. Work done so far at ferry meadows has been to put in a double slip at the Peterborough end of the station, which will also enable double track to be laid to Orton mere at some stage plus three panels of track that will form part of the passing loop. This will used as a siding to start with, so that the present siding can be lifted, so that a second platform can be built. Once the siding is lifted, I think they are going to level out the land where the building will go and sort the track layout for inside the building. Fundraising is ongoing, and all donations for this project should go to Brian white, C/O nene valley railway.
