Afternoon all,

Over the last four days, two liners liners docked in Cobh, Co. Cork: "Celebrity Eclipse" and "Independence of the Seas". In conjunction with these liners, there was a half-hourly service on the East Cork Line to Cobh from Saturday evening until Monday evening, comprising of normal stopping services and semi-fast services, which served Cork, Glounthaune (for Midleton), Fota (for Fota Wildlife Park & Gardens) and Cobh only.

The last update is from October 2006 with the ITG "Supertrain" railtour, which ran from Connolly - Cobh - Limerick - Nenagh - Connolly.

Individual photosets can be found here:

2011.05.01 East Cork Railway
2011.05.02 East Cork Railway
2006.10.14 ITG "Supertrain" Railtour

Photostream of all the photos can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/finnyus/

I think the Cobh line is the line with two shortest station names on Irish Rail - Fota and Cobh. Gort is on the only four letter name on the Western Rail Corridor.
Bray in Dublin nearly qualifies except it's officially called "Bray Daly Station". The towns of Rush and Lusk would also qualify except they share a station which is called "Rush & Lusk"!

Bit of trivia about Irish railways there...

Yet more excellent photos Finnyus. There is something very appealing about the GM201 loco.

Csalem,

That means across the pond it should be disliked as an invader.

A few pictures taken of the stock transfer that operated via the South Wexford Line from Waterford to Rosslare Harbour: http://www.flickr.com/photos/finnyus/

The stock transfer comprised of an 8-piece 29000 class railcar set (27+5). It operated via the South Wexford Line as the ex-DSER line was blocked at Lansdowne Road due to flood-damage to the River Dodder bridge.

Observations:
- 29027 + 29005: Waterford - Rosslare Harbour stock transfer
- 29018: 1047 Bray - Rosslare Harbour InterCity service
- 072 & 080: stabled at Waterford Sallypark Yard
