I was recently charged €8 supplement for travel from Ventimiglia to Genova on an Italian intercity train. Was this correct or should the ticket office have only charged me a reservation fee. (Interail was showing €3.50 for the same journey)?
The Interrail reservation would have been €3 but that is irrelevant for travel on FIP coupons, in which case you pay the difference between the regional fare and the IC full fare ("Base").
