Hi all,

If holidays come to plan, might be able to get away to Poland over the bank holiday weekend and going to visit Gdansk from Warsaw. I see the service is listed as an EIP, which I assume are the Pendolinos.

Just wondering what the benefits of first class are on Polish Railways, do you get any at seat food, drinks etc.

Thanks.

I don't know about the EIP's first class, but even in 2nd class on most PKP-IC services (all except TLKs I believe) you get a free light refreshment...

English site is wrong, check the Polish site and use Google Translate, PKP are known for not properly translating stuff from Polish to English for years now.

When I was on there in April
- Free meal (breakfast/lunch) I had Pasta
- A hot and Cold Drink
- Free Snack (chocolate bar / crisps)
- Free Face Wipe
- Extra space
- Plug Socket
- 2+1 Seating.
- Pull Down table in +1 or full table in +2

Note that Wifi is not currently avaliable on Premium Intercity but is avaliable on standard intercity trains - I know it's stupid but that is the way it is.

I stand corrected. Similar to or even better than the CD Pendolinos by the sound of it.

I only paid 49zl for the ticket from Warsaw to Krakow too!

The food offered for meals was not great, quite small dishes and honestly the choices are not that inspiring, think there is 3 for breakfast and 3 for lunch, not sure about the evening meals.

Drinks are basically juice or water but some people said they got offered coke but I wasn't, varieties of tea and coffee, choice of two different face cloths, crisps or chocolate bar (Prince Polo or Lays/Walkers) and a tiny sweet (kind of like those you get in a restaurant when paying)

The English level of some of the staff is quite variable though.

Thanks for the info.

In the end, flights back from Poland at the end of August are crazy money (£50 to fly out, over £200 to get home), so might do some sleeper trains in Germany instead.
