The first vehicle in the FLIRT Evo fleet is in the final stages of production at Stadler. SBB has published a short Instagram clip about it.

SBB is ordering 155 trains (with 174 as an option). They want to replace old Domino and Flirt combinations as well as locomotive-hauled commuter trains. The SBB subsidiary Thurbo in eastern Switzerland is ordering 107 trains (with 40 as an option) to replace its articulated multiple units (GTW). Regionalps in Valais is purchasing 24 new trains (with 10 as an option). Domino and Nina models are to be replaced there.

In total, SBB and its subsidiaries Thurbo in Eastern Switzerland and Regionalps in Valais are purchasing 286 multiple-unit trains for around two billion Swiss francs. The manufacturer Stadler Rail also has an option for a further 224 vehicles. According to Stadler, the trains will be manufactured entirely at its headquarters in Bussnang TG.

Well, the Colibri are nothing special since they were all fitted with air-con à la Renatus 321, and I quite like this design anyway.

Those look very similar to the existing ones other than First Class being moved to the middle.
Many of the changes are "under the bonnet". Technology was moved from under the floor or from above the bogies at the end to the roof. This provides a little more passenger space behind the cabs. However, the general concept is tried and tested.

Even the "old" SBB Flirt models are not completely standardised, with interior components differing depending on the series and year of construction.
