Does anyone miss this company

Looking at images on google and they seemed to look after their trains well

The green livery was quite striking

I would imagine most people who use the GEML do, it has been downhill ever since.

Easy to be rose-tinted, but yes FGE was a good franchise to work for. Once First Group learnt that they had an excellent bunch of directors that knew how to adapt to the privatised world they left them to run it.

It was good fun too, the 306 was leased for £1 a year, a 321 painted in full Dutch livery (how ironic), friendly (sometimes) competition with Anglia Railways, a very enjoyable part of my career.

I do miss First Great Eastern's green livery as it was one of my favorites. Traveled with them many times between Ipswich and London with my dad on days out. Their two trains per hour between London Liverpool St and Ipswich were very handy :)
