First North Western service 2003

I've just come across an old FNW timetable for the Barrow/Windermere to Airport services dated first half of 2003 and noticed that there was a 19:53 Barrow to Stockport which I'm guessing has long since gone.

Does anyone know why this ran to Stockport rather than the Airport and which class worked it?

I would guess it went to Stockport for overnight stabling.
