Hi all, just a question for anyone who feels they can answer, what traction does First Scotrail use? What do the trainees use?

Cheers for any replies!

Class 380s, Class 314s, Class 90s (for the Sleeper), Class 156s, Class 158s from the high level.

Class 334s, Class 318s and Class 320s from the low level, some of them might go from the High Level as well.

Can't help with what trainees drive I'm afraid.

Not ScotRail but you do have TPE 350s and VT 390s and 221s

I pm'd you but to answer your question Trainees drive everything because as soon as you are with an instructor you drive service trains! No messing about with an empty train or anything, straight into passenger service. You "might" get a shot on the simulator first or a training train for a day or so but not sure.

Got your pm mate but not till this morning and had to go to my interview, spoke to Jim in the DTM office and he told me about that, wasn't sure if trainees maybe used an empty carriage on a spare bit of track at one of the depots, but he informed me that trainees just go out on service trains with instructors so that's all good! Hope I may be part of the team soon :) cheers for all your help scotraildriver

As far as I've heard trainees routes are Wemyss Bay, Ayr and Cathcart Circle. Not entirely sure if that's during training or after training when your out alone...

Ah, right. Hopefully they'll get back to you soon.
I would've thought that the Paisley Canal Line or the Maryhill Line would been good places to start off.
