Since the new Solos started a week ago the number of 4287x Darts seem to have reduced. 42871 was in service last week on a 46 or 47 but the others aren’t around much. I wonder if some are already withdrawn at Summercourt?

Strangely though the older Solos earmarked for withdrawal soldier on.

The 534xx batch seem to be all still active although I believe 53040 is withdrawn from service.

They weren’t when I was last at work.
I’m sure it was posted somewhere they’ll be covering coaches on college runs whilst the coaches are away. Any sign of them at Truro college?

3 of them (42872,73&76) were parked around the back of the Penzance depot today along with the 3 former truronian Solo's so it appears their time is up here now :frown: 42874 is still in service tho and was out doing A17's & A1's  although I cant imagine that has long left either

Ah thank you. The Solos must have been taken out of service quite recently as they were still in use as of last week.

On evening of 2/3/19 on an enthusiasts Facebook group, a post and photo from a Kernow supervisor says 53403 had finished its last day of work in Kernow.

Today's allocation on the A17 consists of the three new Solos, a slimline Solo and a solitary Trident. No Mousehole branded Solos are on the M6 today.

Complete single deck allocation on the A17 so far today, including an E200. So much for the identified need for two double decks, resulting in two of the SRs being allocated elsewhere!

The last departure of the morning westbound left the Greenmarket stop estimated 80% of seats taken.

85 is currently split in to two parts due to hendra road (supposed to be) closed in Truro meaning a diversion under the low arched bridge which they’ve deemed too risky for the booked double deckers. The route has been split as Newquay to Shortlanesend and shortlanesend to Truro with a shuttle bus. The 52 plate ex Truronian Dart was the shuttle today.
Here is 44963 covering a decker working waiting time at shortlanesend before returning to Newquay.

It had been on the 85 all day. Not sure which college working it was doing as the driver who took it to Truro college was swapping it for a decker at college.

I work at Truro McDonald's, and saw it pass when I was working in the lobby so couldn't have a proper look to see the route number but saw it leave with all the other college buses so assumed it was on a college service and then picked up the 27 at St Austell or something

Trident 33142 on Tinner duties today
Tridents 33155 and 33002 on U3 services
Tidents 33236 and 33240 on U4 services
Vamooz Trident 33141 on 85-93 services

A Mousehole Solo had a spell on the A17 this morning. I saw it in Crowlas just after 6am.

Hopefully things will settle down and I appreciate that it's early days, but it's curious that the number of Coaster liveried new Solos was reduced from five to three because the need was rightly identified to retain two double decks, only for even smaller single decks to be allocated instead of these two double decks!

A rare appearance on the 10:05 Pendeen to St Ives A17 this morning was Lizard liveried Solo 53256 rather than one of the three Atlantic Coaster livered examples. Also in service on the route today was Dart 42874.

33002 & 33113 both spotted on the U3, headed to Tremough Campus, along with 33240 which was spotted on the U4 going to the same terminus.

33234 was also spotted on the U3 though headed to Falmouth (The Moor A)

42871 was spotted on the 39A to Camborne (Bus Station)

32097 was seen on the A1 about a minute late heading to Penzance Bus Station

and last but not least 44918 was seen on the A17 heading to St Ives via Penzance (Bus Stations)

In other news, Ex 32872 (V872HBY) & 40036 (S376SUX) have been found for sale on eBay

At six o'clock this evening an out-of-service Tinner was passing through Gulval on its way to the depot, the first I've seen in this location.

Unusual and not where Tinners normally go!

Repainted Dart 42559 all marked up and in use on services 46 & 47 today.
