It was delivered to Truro at lunchtime today.
Its a rather nice piece of kit from first impressions

Just wondering as first kernow might be considering minibuses to replace the older solos but this is unlikely as I think it can only seat 16?
17 + 7 standing + a wheelchair for this exact vehicle.
Also will be available in 20 + 9 standing + a wheelchair.
The rep was chatting with a few of us drivers about it when he dropped it off.

With the limited amount of buses that can fit into Mousehole this isn't a bad option really, if the 20 seat version is still small enough to fit its not far off the capacity of the solos which I think is around 23?

As I've said before it's not seating capacity, but overall capacity that matters. In non-Covid times the M6 can get seriously rammed.

Don't know wether it's just on my phone but it says the photo was taken in South East England!
This particular vehicle is a newcomer to the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter conversion minibus market, unlike the existing EVM Cityline and Mellor Strata vehicles used on TfC contracts
That can just be an issue with twitter or where the photo may have been uploaded from as opposed to where the vehicle is - I.e MMH resides on the Island I believe, so may have uploaded it from there.

Edit, the converter is Ilesbus and would appear to be this vehicle.

Looks like it was taken in Truronian depot in truro, but was in Penzance today so it in the west.
Was also on loan to Ots a few weeks ago.
Yes, was delivered to Truro mid day today hence @richw post #14,101 then would have been moved down to Penzance for use shortly after. I do wonder if it will receive a fleet number for its weeks stay with Cornwall by Kernow

It will probably not receive a fleet number as it's only in fleet for a short time. When Truro P&R had the Yutong demonstrator (YM66 VMO) we had to use just the vehicle registration when doing the vehicle allocation for the day's workings

I'm wondering if it's in service today as there's only one bus on the M6 tracking on Bustimes.

Update: yes it is. Just seen a photo on Facebook.

The bus on loan to First Kernow from the manufacturer was on the M6 this morning but was later replaced by a Solo.IMG_5717.JPG

Today Truronian have been running the fast rail replacement between st Austell and Plymouth with full psvar coaches. Roselyn Also provided one fast duty with their double deck Van Hool coach. Other operators have been running the stoppers with service type buses. Buses seen on stopper included Roselyns E300 and Oakleys B7TL and solo they recently acquired from Mounts bay.

When I walked past earlier there were vehicles from Truronian, Roselyn, Williams, Oakleys and Berry’s present in St Austell Station Car Park.

Berry’s and Roselyn were stand by at St Austell. Williams and oakleys were running the all station stoppers. Truronian running the expresses, non stop to plymouth

Purely anecdotal, and not including any school/college services, but the most people I've seen on any bus in central Penzance these last few months was on an M6, and on more than one occasion.

I think we can guess the reasons for low loading in the past few months. ;) But yes, it's relatively speaking quite a busy route.

Most likely its folk coming into Penzance for supplies from supermarkets/stores that are open as nothing much available where they live so no other choice if they don't own a car. Plenty of those things on the road lockdown or no lockdown.

it's a shame that the Lidl and Co-Op stores at Wherrytown are not served by the M6, and the 5 no longer picks up at what was the common stop at Newlyn Bridge in the Penzance direction. Mousehole was already given over to second-homers and holiday lets when I moved to the area in 1988, so few useful shops for locals: the guy who'd run the Mousehole newsagent came and worked for me a little later!

When I was a youngster, as well as the newsagent (who was also a barber) Mousehole had a green grocer, general store, butcher and post office.

Bath’s Clean Air Zone is now in operation and three non compliant Geminis 32543/44/45 have had to be transferred out of Bath. These are 54 plate ex Glasgow.
Are these likely to be some of the cascaded Geminis that FSW are expecting or are they too old?
