Well there isn't a thread for this but there is for other interests so....
Well it's what it says on the tin, who else out there is interested in fishing? Do you freshwater fish or sea fish? What's your best catch? Share techniques and baits etc!
Personally, I have been a fisherman for about 4 years now and I don't catch much at all but nevertheless I still enjoy it. I do more sea fishing but do a fair bit of freshwater fishing (the proximity of the Manchester Ship canal and the waterways museum make that viable). My best seawater fish would be some massive mackerel I caught from a boat which was about a foot long! Just caught on feathers. I caught about 6 mackerel that day. I also caught 6 in a 20 minute stint off a boat in South Wales during the summer. As soon as I put my rod over the edge 2 immediately were hooked. I have also caught a number of tiny baby bass and sea trouts like 4 cm long.
As for freshwater fishing I have managed to hook a massive Pike but it snapped my line. Other than that I have only caught a load of plastic bags, a speaker, and old guitar, a branch and a tiny perch.
