Flexible seasons - the practicalities

Hi - hopefully some experts here can shed light on this since I am mega-stressed and waiting for an answer from Greater Anglia. I travel from Ely - London Terminals. Situation is:

1) I'm returning to the office 2/week from next week. Bought a flexi season ticket on the GA app yesterday, to go from Ely - London. Ticket to start on 7 Sep. Was told at the station that this would work for London Terminals, like the annual season tickets. (Reason being I often go on GA from Ely - LST in the AM, then take a train from KGX-Ely in the evening, which means going in on GA and home on GN)

2) First problem is that when I touched my smart card to the GA app, no ticket was loaded on the Smart Card. I've been told that if I put the Smart Card on my app on the 7th, the ticket will load - it's not loading now because it isn't the 7th yet. This makes me very nervous!

3) Even if it does load, how do I show I have authority to travel at Kings Cross? I used to show my gold card and staff would open the barrier. Is there some evidence I would have other than a booking confirm email to show I have a ticket?

Tl/dr: Do flexi tickets only show up on the day? Can I use them on more than one operator? Should I get a refund and go back to the season tix, even though I'm only planning to go in to the office 2/week for the foreseeable?

Thanks!
I have a priv rate flexi season for my residential travel to work, first thing is that the validators at my home station (operated by SWR) simply show "no valid ticket" when tapped on one of those, so I have to activate mine using the NR app.

Download the national rail smartcard app and use that, when it comes up tap on the load tickets option and hold your smartcard to the back.

"Download the national rail smartcard app and use that, when it comes up tap on the load tickets option and hold your smartcard to the back."

Thanks - I tried that and it says "We couldn't find any tickets to add to your Smartcard"

Is this because the ticket isn't technically available until 7 September?

Thanks!

2 It should load anytime after the Actionlist is sent
3 Tap the card on the gate and hey presto
Hi - what is the 'Actionlist'? And do I have to wait for the 7th to tap the card on the gate? Thanks ... I suspect this is because the train companies want us to get stressed and go back to the season tickets! Thanks :)

No it should already be on there and just not valid yet, so I assume you've tried "view and activate tickets"?

Obviously being careful not to activate yet

Yes, I tried that and it says 'you have 0 active tickets' and gives me the chance to load purchased tickets onto the smartcard. And when I try that - it is as you quoted above. Thanks

Thats odd, the NR app shows all my expired tickets. Maybe pop to a ticket office?

It's a flexi season to London Terminals, priced by GTR. Why wouldn't it work the barriers at Kings Cross?
