Currently on one of my Scotland trips, so this is how the 1st 4 days have gone.

Day 1: Early start on Saturday morning on 0548 Skipton-Leeds from Steeton, for 0710 Leeds-Aberdeen (43300/367), took that to Inverkeithing, where I am booked into an excellent Guest House. Then headed back to Edinburgh as Saturday was about the Scotland-South Africa match. However moves to match were all on Hst's, Inverkeithing-Haymarket on 320/277, then after match short leap to Waverley on 300/367 and then back to Inverkeithing on 302/251.

Day 2, Sunday: 1st train of day into Edinburgh (170460), then 0930 Inverness service to Dunkeld (170415). From there, back to Gleneagles on the up Chieftain (43315/316), then upto Montrose (170422/418), where I then caught 1350 Aberdeen-Kings Cross (43310/290) to Edinburgh. Then went down to Berwick on 1730 Edinburgh-Kings Cross (91110). Quick food break, then picked up a XC HST on 1503 New St-Edinburgh (43303/304), then 170432 back to Inverkeithing.

Of route interest, the line between Kirkcaldy and Dundee was closed, so the Edinburgh-Inverness was diverted via Stirling and the HST from Montrose also went via Stirling, then due to a fire between Haymarket and Waverley, was also diverted via the Sub.

Day 3, Monday. Today was about trying to get 158710, which was my last 158 for haulage. Headed north from Inverkeithing to Perth (158713), where I changed onto a Glasgow-Inverness(170408). However, a friend informed me the said unit was heading south with 721 on an Inverness-Edinburgh then empty and I had actually past it going the other way. So after an hour in Inverness went across to Aberdeen (158703/722), but when nearing Aberdeen was informed 710 was out in evening peak with 723. So headed to Edinburgh on 1705 (170455). By now The proclaimer's hit 500miles was playing in my head, as it felt thats what I was doing to get the unit in. So arrived at Waverley, then waited for 1938 Newcraighall-Glenrothes on Platform 2, then just a little bit late, 2x158's appear out of Carlton Tunnel, 723 leading, and 710 on the back. Took them to Inverkeithing.

That would have been it for the day, but when passing Inverkeithing, I saw a XC HST going north and looked to see what it was doing. So dropped the bag at the b&b, then went back out for 1600 kx-Ab (43302/251) to Dundee. Had a quick pint, then was back in plenty time for 2131 Ab-Ed. Aberdeen sleeper came and went hauled by 67004. Then running 40 late, the Ab-Ed arrived which was indeed HST (43285/387). It had worked up on 0925 Plymouth-Aberdeen as a way to get it back to Craigentinny, after it had failed on Sunday.

Day 4, Tuesday: Bit more slower after yesterday. Inverkeithing to Edinburgh (43315/316), then to North Berwick for an hour (380103 out, 106 back). Then a couple of hours in Edinburgh. Then did an out and back move to Kirknewton (156439 out, 380102 back). Then did the 1708 full circle behind 67027. Tea move was the Chinese at top of ramp for a takeaway box. Then did 1600 Kx-Ab (43206/208) back to base.

Also this week the 2nd hauled diagram on the fifes appears to have restarted. 67017 last 2 nights (Monday and Tuesday) has done the Carcaden.
