Hi All,

I'm hoping to snap some nice locos at this point but I've been unable to find the WTT showing the freight trains coming in/out of the Lafarge Terminal near Gravesend, Kent. The freight trains from this terminal follow a single-track chord that joins the North Kent Line just to the west of Swanscombe station. However, the terminal doesn't appear in the working timetables WK02, WK03 or the passenger timetable WC03. Doesn't anyone know where I can find the WTT and/or a good timing point from Real Train Times?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I *think* it was pretty disused until Crossrail paid for the rebuild as the spoil barge loading point hence might not have seen much used since Crossrail construction work?
I check properly over the weekend.

That's because there are none!

After the CrossRail spoil traffic ceased, the terminal was briefly used a couple of years ago to
send out cement to Weaste(Eccles) when a bridge over the Manchester Ship Canal collapsed,
preventing deliveries by sea, but since then the terminal has not been used other than for storing
wagons.

It's academic, but any train would have to go via Dartford and either there or Dartford Jn must have a passing time. RTT has timing points for Northfleet Lafarge and Northfleet Jn (it's there not Swanscombe BTW) anyway.

Many thanks for your replies. I was looking forwarding to doing some loco spotting there (well, Cornovirus permitting) but looks like its closed already! What a shame! Does NR officially note 'closed' freight terminals?

Theres a few trains a day through gravesend going from grain oil terminal too colnbrook and back carrying jet fuel for heathrow...
As far as I am aware, they have been suspended indefinitely with immediate effect
as the demand for jet fuel has collapsed.

And yes - they've not been rattling past the last few days... Distinctive sound those waggons are.
