I noticed as my train passed Clapham Junction this morning that what looked like an aggregates train was stabled in the yard, towards the Windsor side platforms. The wagons were high-sided and grey, so not NR ballast or similar, and I am curious about the story here. Can anyone supply any background, please?

Off the wall suggestion, could it have been involved in track alterations within the yard?

I think there is some rearrangement of siding space going on in the yard at present as a result of the stabling changes needed at a number of locations once the 707s arrive.

Quite possibly - nothing stands out on RTT for yesterday or today so it may have been there for some time already. I was only curious as it didn't look like engineering stock.

It was 59203 on it, and the wagons looked like Mendip Rail type box wagons. Not sure what the working was, though.

I saw this as well around 0915 whilst on Platform 9. I thought it was just waiting for signal clearance on the Windsor line.

As there was a Mendip rakebeing being unloaded today at Woking with a lone Mendip wagon looking like it was removed from the rake and left in the naughty corner close to platform 6, I'm guessing it was put into clapham due to issues with that wagon. I'm sure someone will know the truth.

It had been there Monday and Tuesday nights, JYA waggons IIRC.

Cancelled awaiting an available driver apparently. Should have gone today with 67010 attached to it as well. Can't remember the working I'm afraid, but I think it was bound to or from Acton yard.

That wagon has been there for a week or two.

67010 worked a 7Z55 from Clapham to Acton yesterday afternoon then went light to Wembley as 0Z67.
