No, but i applied. I also think just for having persevered with that Freightliner Online Application process you should be given £50k a year.

Groundstaff roles seem to pay a salary of around £22k - £27k depending on the company. Iirc the Freightliner job spec seems to list a few tasks that are not in a normal Groundstaff job spec, so i'd expect this one to be at the top end of my estimate or even slightly higher to reflect this. That is an assumption though, not fact.

I was thinking around 19k looking at other areas...

Hmmm......

I've applied for Groundstaff roles with both DRS and DBS in recent months. I can't remember the exact salaries (you could probably find the old adverts on Google) but i'm sure they were within the brackets i posted in my earlier reply. I don't know why/if Freightliner would pay considerably less given that they seem to want you to do the Groundstaff role and be able to operate/drive some specialist bits of kit by the sounds of it.

From the tone of the advert i got the feeling they are looking for someone already qualified in the role and capable of operating the equipment they list. I think the "for exceptional candidates full training will be given" is just an arse covering excercise.

Don't let any of what i have said put you off applying though, i have applied myself and wouldn't want you to think i was trying to talk you out of going for it!!

Good luck not punching your screen whilst trying to get the Freightliner online application process to not dump everything you have typed once you press 'next'.

Have to agree with junior on that one...
I applied for this position when it was previously advertised around three months ago. After a very long evening of putting up with the problem junior mentioned I managed to get it done and attach my CV. Upon receiving my confirmation of application email I was somewhat annoyed that their system had not registered my previous work history correctly as it repeated my current role twelve times and completely lost eleven job history sections which I had written out

I would strongly recommend printing off the hard copy application form and mailing it to them. As the current vacancy is advertised to close on the 30th of nov I think there is plenty of time to get it to them....
