Je suis allé à France! A five day trip working (indirectly) back from Nice to Paris - derided by many SNCF again showing that they can provide Intercity trains which compare well to any in Western Europe, with long trains of Corail stock eating up the kms behind both electrics and diesels. The TER stuff as ever was a bit more hit and miss, requiring a bit more patience and luck. At least there is plenty of variety in classes and liveries to keep the interest up even if the unbranded 'en voyage' livery is one of the most drab around.

You are right, the shunter is a Y 6200.

Nowadays, these machines are used on private industrial tracks or for tourism train.
No one is anymore used by the SNCF.
