GCR(N) vandalism causes thousands of pounds of damage

Cowley, Malcmal, duffield and others, very many thanks for your generous donations...

It has a great effect on the volunteers to know of such support from other people out there. From adversity sometimes comes opportunity to make the GCR(N) stronger.

By strange consequences of railway vandalism exactly 50 years ago today, 5th May 1969, the former GCR was officially closed for good.

The final DMU train had already made its last day of service stop, on the 3rd May at East Leake on the GCR (N) section. The clock could be turned back when the vandalised DMU is put back in to service, maybe?
