Its the Outer Trial Bank. An artificial island that was created as a water reserve. The project failed with an estimated cost of £3m

Still felt like cheating.

*edit* Its nickname is "the doughnut"

If you confirm then my question is :

Which Universal Island only has a single tree ?

I'll take it with this if I may ....

In a South Wales cricketing sense, if the first ball of an over is called "Newport" and the last one is called "Swansea", what is the fourth ball called?

Haven't a clue why - but I'm guessing Porthcawl

Sorry I haven't been on recently , but you're right, it is Porthcawl - well done!

The late Glamorgan Cricket Scorer, Byron Denning, used to describe a normal six ball over as follows:

"Newport, Cardiff, Bridgend, Porthcawl, Neath and Swansea."

I can't remember why he used Porthcawl as the fourth ball as it's not on the South Wales main line, but he surely did!

:)

I'm sure it wasn't Lancs as the protagonist was reminiscing about Hornby & Barlow (Lancs), so I'd say Glos & Middlesex.
