Not those two. Snoopy appeared in the 4th cartoon, Lucy not until the next year.
Clue : the other characters were obscure, in that they fairly soon more or less disappeared from the strip.

I see the estemed Mr W Pedia lists them as Shermy and Patty. The original strip's humour is definitely of another age, as it bypasses me completely. The later cartoons seemed more accesible to me.
