What exactly do you think the difference between 'Metrolink trams' and 'Metrolink services' is?

Since I am a member of the public and thus do not have any access to internal staff documentation then I can only ever go off what is made available to me on the National Rail Enquiries website.

For all I know, your staff manual is out of date and the National Rail Enquiries website is bang up to date. The website specifically uses the word "trams".

Countycard

Countycard is a Multi-Modal Season Ticket valid on all rail services and most buses within the Greater Manchester area – also valid on rail beyond the GMPTE boundary to Disley and New Mills Newtown / Central. It is valid for periods of Weekly, Monthly and Annual only. Countycards are valid for travel on Metrolink services within the City Zone only. Price: Weekly £30.20; Monthly £95.00; Annual £950.00 :

KWVR45 - Only the monthly/annual County Card is valid to Disley/New Mills. Weekly not permitted to these stations. Weekly Traincard is valid though

As I said before, I copied and pasted direct from the internal National Fares Manual, which is allegedly the definitive source of all fares and retail information.

What this does show is that ATOC are completely hopeless. The National Rail Enquiries website is apparently the definitive source of Rail information for the public - yet is known to be full of errors. The National Fares Manual (NFM) is apparently the definitive source of information for staff, yet also has errors / out of date / inconsistent information in it. Both sites are managed by ATOC!

There arent any Metrolink 'services' which are not trams, so again whats the issue?

Occasionally, there are Metrolink replacement buses, when there's engineering work on (usually at weekends).

I doubt you wouldn't be allowed to use them because they're not trams though as they're replacements - the same way I'd buy a train ticket, I'd be mighty annoyed if I wasn't allowed to catch a replacement bus becuase it was a train ticket.
