Nobody seems to have yet reported this crash that happened yesterday on the Lizard.
A young boy and a woman in her 30s have sustained "life-threatening injuries" in a crash involving a double-decker school bus.
The crash happened on Meaver Road in Mullion, on the Lizard Peninsula, at about 08:40 BST on Monday.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the child and the woman, who were in a Vauxhall Astra, sustained "life-threatening injuries" and were being treated in hospital.
Four children on the bus were treated for minor injuries.
Pretty sure the vehicle involved was E400 5015 on the M108. I'm not sure if this is a closed door school contract or not. It isn't advertised as a public service. Would the vehicle have to have seat belts - because I don't think it does?
Hope all those on the bus and in the car make a full recovery, thoughts with them all.

A further update I am told is that the fleet and staff have been absorbed into the Citybus operation.

As for the situation with Summercourt Travel / Travel Cornwall there is nothing I can find to suggest that TC has ceased. Also Traveline still shows TC as the operator of their routes (405, 481, 482, etc.) but who knows. The best proof I can think of would be if PCB / GCB registered the routes.

As reported on the 1st post buses are running on hire to Citybus who have registered the routes. Licence numbers are PH0000135/366-377

Rob Ryder proprietor of sunmercourt travel trading as travel Cornwall has decided to retire. He has sold the bus operations to Go Ahead as his family wasn’t interested in keeping that element of the business.
The van and car hire business, the ownership of the depot, and the 2 taxis will remain with the Ryder family, with Rob’s son running those parts of the business.
Citybus will rent depot space from Rob giving a further retirement income.

I wasn't expecting the day and period tickets to have their third hefty rise in less than a year. Town zone Week tickets have increased by 120% (were £2.50 until Spring 2024). This of course has nothing to do with the fare cap scheme.Changes to fares in January 2025 across GCB and First:

And of course if it returns to the full commercial rate by the end of the year as stated then it'll be a lot higher than £10.
The link posted by @YorkRailFan says it would be £11 without the Government subsidy.

Yes if you use the Bank of England inflation calculator. However, that's based on CPI, whereas costs in the industry have risen at least double the rate. I reckon potentially at the end of 2025 the day ticket at a fully commercial rate could be up to £14.
The Cornwall day was £15 when I worked at Kernow, pre 2020!

That was stupidly high, way in excess of other areas, and even more extreme when the network reduced by 50%, but the price stayed the same. Add on the then Cornwall £9 ticket and it cost a whopping £23 in total!

As of today the GoCornwall app has become the Transport for Cornwall app. First's timetables have been brought across and its buses are tracking on the live maps on the website.

Unfortunately First's buses are still only shown as scheduled times rather than actual times on the app and there's no evidence that service updates for First have been integrated into the website or app. Hopefully both of these will follow in due course.

I have notice First buses can be tracked on the app, so hopefully they will add live times soon. Yes, I've noticed the tracking.
Also, with the timetable listing it's by operator rather than chronological, eg to find the 17/17A you have to scroll through the entire GoCornwall network. Plus routes such as the 17E could do with combining with the 17/17A. But hopefully all that will come in time.

Of some interest is new route 7, a limited replacement for the Lands End Coaster between St Ives and Lands End. Summer half term and school summer hols only, four return journeys with the first one starting at Penzance, running via Marazion to St Ives and Lands End and the last one journey in reverse back to Penzance.
