Gold Card First Class Supplement Restrictions

I hijacked jonmorris0844's thread with this question and was rightfully ignored so I'll ask it again on its own.

On the National Rail Enquiries Upgrade to First Class page where it says:

"In addition, the Gold Card First Supplement cannot be used on journeys departing from any London terminal station or any intermediate journey between London and Clapham Junction inclusive between 1600 and 1900 (inclusive) Mondays to Fridays (except public holidays)."

What does "any intermediate journey between London and Clapham Junction inclusive" mean exactly? Can anyone give an example?

In effect, it means that between 1600 and 1900 inclusive, you may not use the supplement from any London Terminal, nor on a train from Battersea Park, Queenstown Road (Battersea), Vauxhall, or Clapham Junction. Therefore, if you join the train at the first stop after these stations, the restriction does not apply.

For example, the 1605 Waterloo to Reading train calls at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, then Richmond. You could not use the supplement from Waterloo, Vauxhall, or Clapham Junction to Reading but you could from Richmond to Reading.

The restriction does not apply on journeys to London Terminals.

Thank you lightbulb, that makes sense. I think the restriction could be better worded in that case, something like "any intermediate station between London and Clapham Junction inclusive" maybe?

For reference, The Manual (soon to RIP) states "Between 16:00 and 19:00 inclusive Mondays to Fridays (except public holidays) for journeys departing from any London terminal station, or intermediate station between London and Clapham Junction inclusive".
