Some good news from the Irish preservation scene, with the DCDR's O&K No.1 undergoing tests prior to being delivered to the railway. http://www.facebook.com/downrail/posts/334137656684843

Meanwhile in Dublin the RPSI's Beyer Peacock 2-6-0 No.461 is undergoing tests following repairs at Inchicore. She ran light engine from Inchicore to Kildare and back (twice) on Monday, with a loaded test run to Portlaoise and back today, hauling the RPSI BR van and 3 Cravens. She's due to do the same tomorrow.

You beat me to that one! I was holding off until there's a confirmed date but yes, O&K 1 is due back imminently, with RPSI No3 making the return journey back to Whitehead.

O&K No1 will undergo some further running in once at DCDR and there will also be crew familiarisation as No1 will no doubt have its own little 'ticks'.

Yes indeedy.

461 undertook another successful trial yesterday. A technical problem resulted in two Cravens being removed from the train yesterday, so 461 set out with just BR van 3185 and Craven 1532 in tow, a throw back to the old Limerick area local trains (albeit with a K2 instead of a 141). Unusually the train went into Portlaoise PW yard for servicing.
