Nor sure were to put this - feel free to move

It would appear that the Goods lines from Skew Bridge to Preston station have been authorised for passenger train use from late this evening to tomorrow lunchtime. If true could give some rare photo opportunities!

I don't think there are passenger services booked to use the Goods Lines during this time. The only two services before 10am are 1A06 Preston-Euston and 2S61 Blackburn-Blackpool South, both of which are booked over the Slow Lines.

I remember the Goods Lines were used on summer Saturdays by trains to Blackpool, continuing round the back of the old Platform 1.

How often is this line used?
Usually every weekday for freight, specifically the bitumen tankers down the Strand Road branch. Gets used on Saturdays for shunt moves with the Blackpool South services
