And that's why places like that are tough to live in. You always need a car or an expensive taxi, or you don't go out. It only operates the whole route once a day in each direction.
It's an old people's shopping service isn't it? 1st bus from Cartmel arrives in Kendal at 10:40. The last and effectively only realistic bus back from Kendal leaves at 13:15.

The new timetable has been improved. There is a later bus from Kendal to Cartmel during the school holidays and on Saturday.

open top 70 - What use are the later services? The new, later service from Cartmel doesn't operate along the whole route. Only the 9:30 from Cartmel operates the whole route in that direction. The later service from Kendal to Cartmel just means a longer day in Kendal, but as I said earlier, that will be too long a day for the old people who use it for shopping/post office/bank etc.

In reality, this is just one company passing the service onto their sister company given Travellers Choice now own Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire.
In good news for the 530, the timetable is being enhanced on School Holidays and Saturdays with a later journey from Kendal now at 15:30.
