I have just purchased a Linen Great Northern Destination Blind, which has the following Destinations on it (I haven't included them all), can anyone tell me what DMU class this would have come from? The blind is in capital letters, the text looks different to the normal text on a linen blind it is thicker and more rounder on certain letters ie the letter R.

Enfield Chase
Moorgate
Kings Cross
Finsbury Park
Gordon Hill
Cuffley
Hertford North
New Barnet
Potters Bar
Brookmans Park
Hatfield
Welwyn GC
Hitchin
Letchworth
Baldock
Royston
Cambridge

That can't have been a DMU; DMUs are not allowed to Moorgate.

Almost certainly that will be from a 313.

Any chance it could be from a via Widened Lines (pre-NCL) DMU?

Its not off a313. I would agree its off an old pre NCL DMU as per the photo. I think that DMU is a CRavens Class 105

Doesnt mean anything, 455s are not* allowed to Aldershot but they have had it on the blinds from new.

* they are now after being route cleared along with the 456s.

I believe the blinds for the GN 313s include Spalding on them!

A few 313s have occasionally been to Cambridge
I know one Saturday some years ago in NSE days a 313 turned up at Letchworth with the semi fast service from Cambridge to Kings cross instead of the usual 317.

I've got the same blind too (and also an older 1960's one with the same stations listed in the same order, although it also lists since closed stations too). It'll certainly be from the DMUs that used to work the Widened Lines, most likely Class 105 as suggested above.

I have a Class 125 blind too, which does shows King's Cross, but mostly lists GE lines (including places such as Epping, Liverpool Street, etc).

The Class 125s used to operate the Chingfords, Enfields, etc. until those lines were electrified. After that they were transferred to operate out of Kings Cross. Reputedly, they only used to operate peak services from KX, firstly because they were unreliable, and secondly because the 105s couldn't get up the bank out of KX with a full load!
