Greater Anglia Train Driver Managers' Interview

Hi all,
Has anyone been on a recent train/depot driver Managers' interview and if so can you point me in the right direction question-wise please. Although I have got this far before under NXEA I was under the impression that since GA have taken over the Managers' Interview has changed.

Any guidance on this subject would be much appreciated.

Hi Parsons

You will be interviewed by two people. They will ask you questions off a sheet like "when have you worked on your own for a period of time?", they will ask you about the training programme and things like that so do your research! They will ask you questions they want to ask and that could be anything. They will then give you chance to ask them any questions you have.

I'm a GA driver and I did the process under NXEA but it's likely to be pretty much the same.

That wasn't my experience when I had the GA manger's interview in the Summer. They stated that under Abellio it is now more criteria based and each candidate is marked against the same questions. There is a lot of focus on customer service, achievements and a questions on lone working. I did research into GA's stats and ethos, but wasn't asked anything on that area. It's a bit like a second structured interview, but more friendly and not as intense. Although all interviews are still nerve racking!

Yep - I agree mostly, but in my case I found the structured interview much less intense and the final interview very intense (My final interview was at a different place to Mix).

Sounds like GA has changed it a lot compared to how NXEA were then hopefully you get/got through it ok.

Cheers everybody. I was sure that I'd read elsewhere on the forum that another member had been to one earlier this year and the criteria had totally changed compared to NXEA. If anyone out there has some questions they can remember being asked I would be most grateful as I'm getting rather too old to screw this one up (been told "early next year" and I'm pretty sure there are courses in February)!!

Sorry can't remember exact specific questions, but as I say the questioning is around the criteria I mentioned previously. Just have plenty of examples from your work or personal life to hand, although I used one several times as it fitted with more than one question but used it in a different context. The course's vary depending on whether it's a depot driver or West Anglia Mainline. I'm starting as a trainee in Nov on the WA, so next course is 4 months later in March. Think they do 4 a year on the WA if the business requires it. Best of luck for when you do your interview in the new year.

Hi people...

Now its been a month....does anyone have any more insight into how the Driver Managers Interview will look? What questions are asked etc?

I know it is now more criteria based uner Abellio, but is it the saem stuff as the structured interview? or different?

Also I'm asking about GEML not WA....in case there is any difference?

Really appreciate any insight as i'm sure many others out there will too!!

Hi Emily sounds like the DM interview has changed under GA. I did it when it was NXEA so could only say what it was like under them.
