Interesting guesses. It is definitely not a commercial vehicle - far from it. I will find another picture of the same body part at the end of the production run and publish that as a comparison.

A bit closer.

The distinctive curved panel join was only needed for the first 4 years - but remained in place for the next 16 or so years!

The first picture was of a Sprite Mk1 (Frogeye) which needed the panel break so that the bonnet and wings could hinge upwards. It then became the MkII, or Midget Mk1, where the wings were fixed and only the bonnet opened. In the best traditions of British engineering, no-one got round to redesigning the bodywork and this "pointless" but distinctive feature remained in place until the dawn of the 1980s!

The final picture showed it in the Midget 1500 form, with black sill, chrome trim, and the word "MIDGET" picked out in chrome on the sill.

Can we have some sort of rule that there should be something distinguishing in the picture?

Not necessarily unique to the model, but to avoid ones where it could be almost anything at all.
